This in-depth inspection and test of the electrical installation provides you with all the information you need to assess potential risks and the continued usability of the current electrical installation.
The Electricity at Work Act 1989 requires:
“As may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger.” - Regulation 4 Systems, work activities and protective equipment
This regulation is essentially dealing with every electrical system or item of equipment. In the case of electrical installations, it is saying that they should be maintained and checked regularly to prevent danger (risk of injury/ harm). Therefore, to comply with this regulation we carry out periodic inspection and tests to BS7671 (Requirements for Electrical Installations. IET Wiring Regulations).
BS7671 recommends that electrical installations are periodically inspected and tested to ensure their condition is safe and satisfactory for continued use. Depending upon the type and nature of the installation, an electrical inspection and test should be carried out between every 6 months to 5 years. The Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) will highlight any dangers and potential problems developing in your installation, which can be used to ensure the continued safety/ serviceability of the electrical installation.
We offer EICR inspections and testing of electrical installations for all types of premises. Please see below for pricing or contact us for a quote.
Here are just some of the electrical installations we can carry out an EICR on:
